Claymont (Wilmington), DE - International Thunderbird Club's 19th Annual International Convention! This Convention is open to ALL Thunderbird Owners and Thunderbird Enthusiasts from 1955 - 2005! ALL are equally welcomed from Trailered or Driven Thunderbirds, Concours to Original Thunderbirds, Stock to Modified Thunderbird, Judged to non Judged and many levels in between. The Convention will be bassed out of the Claymont, DE Crowne Plaza (Currently a Holiday Inn which is being upgradded to a Crowne Plaza)! The Hotel rates are an amazing $85.00/night. The 2012 ITC Convention is being hosted by the Mid Atlantic Thunderbird Club (MATC).

This Event has the makings of the LARGEST Thunderbird Event ever held!

Here is a short list of the FANTASTIC venues, events and tours being held during this week long event:

Sunday 7-8-12: Thunderbird Cruise to Greenbank Station for a Open Thunderbird Cruise In (Bring Your T-Bird and come on over), where a 90 Minute Train Excursion with boxed lunch will be available to participants. Upon return from the Thunderbird Cruise-In, Convention goers will attend the Annual ITC Welcome Party at the Hotel!

Monday 7-9-12: Tour the Hagley Museum Tour where the Dupont story begins, then on to Longwood Gardens Tour!

Tuesday 7-10-12: Thunderbird Cruise to the Famous "Monster Mile" - for Laps Photo Opportunity and Tour of the Dover International Speedway.

Wednesday 7-11-12: Walking tours of the historic sites in Philadelphia and then boarding the Spirit of Philadelphia for a lunch Cruise. Then it is onto a self guided tour of Independence Seaport Museum and a 1-hour guided tour of the Cruiser Olympia (Admiral Dewey's flagship in the Spanish-American War) and the WWII Submarine, Becuna.

Thursday 7-12-12: Thunderbird Cruise to the Historic town of New Castle, visiting the many shops and museums with lunch at one of the many fine restaurants and pubs. The evening sets the stage for the 2012 3rd Annual Thunderbird Olympic Games - held in the hotel parking lot. Bring your T-Bird ( 2 people required for each T-Bird entry).

Friday 7-13-12: SEMA SAN National "Collector Car Appreciation Day" - Cleaning the Thunderbirds for the Concours Show on Saturday, Concours Show Owners Meeting, Judges Meeting and the International Thunderbird Club's Annual Meeting (Members only at the Annual Meeting). Evening Pool Picnic at the hotel.

SATURDAY 7-14-12: THUNDERBIRD SHOW DAY! This will be cap off the week with a Concours Thunderbird Show. There will be Thunderbird classes available for Point Judged: "Concours", "Touring", "Touring Modified" and a participant judged "Show Case" Class for those not wanting to be point judged. All Thunderbirds in the above listed classes Must be on Show Field by 9:00 am (Mandatory) and all cleaning needs to be completed by 9:00 am SHARP!

There will also be Non-Jugded Thunderbird Show & Shine area available to ANY Thunderbird owner that would like to stop by and display their car during the Concours Thunderbird Show at the Hotel on Saturday morning. Please remember that this Show & Shine space will be limited to first come first shown!

Sunday 7-15-12: Breakfast and Good Byes!

Pittsburgh, PA – Pitt Birds Annual Thunderbird Picnic at the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix July weekend , an open invitation to owners of Thunderbirds to show their cars on the Schenley Park Golf Course Fairways, 5400 Forbes Ave. The picnic and Thunderbird display starts at 10:00 am gates opens 9:30 am and is part of a car show comprised of 2,000 cars including classic, antique, and exotic vehicles from all countries. Car show Registration $25.00 dontation benefits the Autis Society of Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley School. This festive event is part of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix VSCCA sanctioned race. This race is the nation's only vintage race held on city streets. The 2.33 mile circuit runs through the Schenley Park golf course.
